I observe this topic of conversation surfacing from time to time trying to define quality. A lot of views I see I completely respect, however, disagree with. One of them is “quality is hard to define”. Of course it is when you’re talking in generic terms and not comparing two things together. The word often missing here is comparison. Or maybe the question, what are you comparing it to?

If you look up the definition of quality on google it says the following:

Interesting! Especially the first. The standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind. I’ve just highlighted two of my favourite words ‘measured’ and ‘’similar kind’.

So a definition of quality “A better version of “something” based on the comparison of a characteristic/attribute.
