I came across the agile testing quadrants in Lisa Crispin & Janet Gregory’s book called Agile Testing Condensed. It is worth a purchase as you can dip in and out of it for inspiration.

You can read more about it in Lisa’s blog post https://lisacrispin.com/2011/11/08/using-the-agile-testing-quadrants/

Agile testing quadrants.

I have been pondering a lot about how we’ve got *so* much to think about as testers. How do we cover it all? Sometimes I have observed that we get tunnel vision into the technology and forget about our users. Or Perhaps some of you have observed we focus on the business facing and forget about the tech. It is very complicated at times.

I initially pictured it as a traditional see saw in the park, however, it’s much more than that with the four quadrants. So an image that springs to mind is a see saw with four seats. Constantly battling to get the right balance between the four.

Plan your testing

In my view, it’s important to plan your testing. We need that bigger picture. The agile testing quadrant can help guide us to do just that.

What helps guide your team in what you need to test?
