Thank you for raising this problem!

Do you know what’s really awesome? When you raise a problem / quality concern and someone says to you -

Thank you for raising this.

I’ve had a few moments like this lately and it has made me feel valued and appreciated. It’s such a simple thing to say thank you, but it means so much. It is recognising and appreciating the feedback you have given. I’m not advocating for saying thank you for every bug or problem raised, however, if it’s a major issue and even one that’s raised in a group setting, then a moment of appreciation for raising the problem might contribute to a positive work environment. It drives out fear of raising problems because you know your feedback is welcome. It encourages an environment where you can be yourself and speak your mind.

So when someone next in your team raises a problem perhaps the first thing you can consider saying is, thank you.
